Marcus Autism Center and Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics are conducting a search for a doctoral-level psychologist, nurse practitioner or public health investigator with dissemination and implementation research experience in children with autism and related developmental disabilities in underserved communities. This faculty position will support the growth of our ongoing dissemination and implementation program. This primary focus of the position is two-fold: implementation of community-viable early intervention for children with autism and related developmental disabilities, and community engagement to promote sustainable, community-based early interventions for children with autism and children with an increased likelihood of having autism.

We are seeking an individual who is interested in joining a dedicated team of professionals focused on building deep partnerships with community settings in order to collaboratively implement evidence-based interventions for autistic children and their families. An important goal of this research will be to reduce treatment inequities through developing and testing implementation strategies to support treatment access within underserved communities. Applicants with an active line of implementation research in diverse service systems are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will possess a PhD in clinical psychology, public health, social work, nursing, or a related field and have at least 3 years of research experience in implementation science with children with autism and/or developmental disabilities. Faculty appointment rank at Emory University School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This investigator supports and enhances the mission of the Division of Autism and Related Disabilities in the Department of Pediatrics .

I. Research Role:* Actively support research activities underway in the dissemination and implementation portfolio* Development of an independent line of Dissemination and Implementation Science (DIS) research focused on evidence-based practices for children with ASD and related developmental delays and disabilities.* Research that considers issues of health equity, including research evaluating interventions that are adapted to meet the diverse needs of families and/or that uniquely account for the structural and systemic barriers that families experience accessing services.* Develop intramural research collaborations within Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, as well as extramural collaborations with top-tier research institutions involved in related lines of science. * Seek additional opportunities to support and lead research efforts as time and interest allow.* Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication in a timely manner with internal (e.g., Emoty IRB) and external entities (e.g., NIH, State of Georgia) as needed.

II. Clinical Role* Education of pre-doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, and students in psychology, speech-language pathology and allied disciplines, nursing, on clinical elements of our research portfolio in early treatment and in early education. Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education. * Provides supervision as appropriate to allied health providers and/or support staff on the team effort of dissemination and implementation research. * Participation in a multidisciplinary care model with seamless collaborations with medicine, nursing, speech pathology, psychology, social work and other disciplines (i.e., ecosystem of care).

III. Teaching:* Provides supervision for trainees, ensuring adequate opportunities for training through teaching, study design, analysis and interpretation.

IV. Administrative: * Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area and the organization overall.* Participates in activities that enhance professional development. * Completes and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the assigned area.* Participate in the development of goals for the department including research, quality and customer service initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * PhD, DrPH* 3 years of research experience in implementation science with children with autism and/or developmental disabilities.* A strong publication track record and prior experience submitting for intramural and extramural funding.* Excellent written and oral communication skills* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and families and as a team member
