Financial Analyst-Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center (Hybrid Remote)

This position will be responsible for the development and negotiation of the budget and contract (payment terms) for clinical trials that will be managed through the Clinical Trial Office (CTO) of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC).
Detailed responsibilities include:
Develop detailed internal cost budgets and sponsor budgets for all new clinical trials and amendments consistent with the coverage analysis.
Work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (PI), Clinical Trial Managers, and ancillary departments to identify all the costs associated with the research study.
Ensure all identified costs are covered in the sponsor budget including patient care costs, facility and equipment costs, and study team time and effort.
Review the payment terms in the contract to ensure they are consistent with CTO requirements.
Negotiate with sponsors to finalize the budget and payment terms.
Function independently and proactively with strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
Effectively prioritizes tasks and follows-up to ensure completion of studies in a compliant and timely manner.
Deliver focused attentive customer service to investigators, nurses, coordinators, other staff and sponsors.
Effectively identify, prioritize and communicate outstanding issues to management. Propose potential solutions to identified issues and demonstrate follow through actions.
Participate in improving departmental performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to office discussions.
Enter data to track turnaround times to ensure departmental performance metrics are met.
Demonstrate the characteristics of an effective team member.
Provide informal guidance and support to team members.
Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross training, literature review, attendance at department meetings and continuing education courses.
Serve as a backup resource for business analyst responsibilities including development of the calendar, coverage analysis and financial console.

Develops projections to model the financial impact of programs and projects.
Designs, develops, and modifies financial forecasting models and simulations for programs. Accumulates and analyzes data from existing or established databases.
Analyzes, accumulates, and reviews data for financial reports. Conducts technical research and prepares synopses on relevant topics.
Assembles data and compiles drafts, outlines and graphic materials for financial presentations. Coordinates efforts of work group.
Analyzes the effects of proposed federal and state statutes and regulatory actions which may impact long range financial planning.
Analyzes future trends and indicators in related areas of interest. Reviews data to analyze trends affecting budget needs.
