Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a member of MaineHealth, seeks an inpatient Child Psychiatrist to join our team in Westbrook, Maine. The Psychiatrist will join Spring Harbor Hospital, working in a highly regarded, specialized inpatient unit that is a national leader in inpatient treatment of youth with autism and developmental disorders. The physician will work with a team of experienced and passionate professionals, and will report to Dr. Matthew Siegel, MD, VP of Medical Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for treating children with autism and developmental disorders.

Duties and Responsibilities of the job

• Provide psychiatric services for clinic patients
• Work with the clinic team to develop effective, multidisciplinary treatment plans
• Model and teach treatment strategies for residents and fellows
• Attend team meetings regularly to review patient progress
• Work with the medical director to refine the clinic treatment model
• Maintain medical records in accordance with MBH policy
• Make available clinical data for research purposes as needed and performs research assessments as requested
• Perform clinical rating measures as part of the standard clinic/program routine (Parent rating scales, etc.)
• Use of electronic medical record (EPIC)

Desired COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• M.D./D.O. degree
• Board eligible/board certified in Child Psychiatry
• Experience in clinical treatment for the population is preferred
• Interest in teaching and/or clinical research preferred
• Licensure in the State of Maine required prior to start date
• Must display strong interpersonal, planning, forecasting, analytical skills and maturity required to work in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt to frequent change
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
