SAVAHCS is seeking a gastroenterologist eager to practice clinical medicine in an academic teaching environment. SAVAHCS is the principal teaching affiliate of the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy; medical students, residents, and fellows rotate at our facility. Therefore, the selected candidate must be eligible for an appointment with the University of Arizona. The candidate must be committed to quality patient care and teaching related to GI and liver disorders. Proficiency in standard endoscopy procedures is expected. There is an opportunity to perform advanced endoscopy procedures if it fits the candidate's interests and expertise. Excellent facilities and equipment are in place. Our GI service provides some remote care through telehealth and video visits; medical subspecialists are not required to travel to our affiliated clinics. The physician will participate in the education and supervision of house staff including GI fellows, residents, medical students. There are numerous opportunities for clinical research and collaboration in research projects. Preference will be given to candidates who are board-certified or recently Board eligible in gastroenterology. A track record of success in education and/or research will be noted in the selection process. Our GI physician providers must maintain current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification at all times.
