We are seeking a Research Project Associate to join the Thoracic Oncology Service within the Department of Medicine. Participate or coordinate on both interdepartmental and intra-departmental organization-wide research projects as requested. Provide leadership, organization, creative, or clerical support to established and new research initiatives.
Communicate and maintain institutional/department policies, procedures, quality standards, improvement initiatives, and external legal regulations/regulatory requirements; serve as primary liaison to external Sponsors.
Independently develop reports and perform sophisticated queries for Principal Investigator (PI), disease management team, sponsoring agency, Institutional Review Board/Privacy Board (IRB/PB), etc, as needed.
Lead record review and data/source documentation reconciliation efforts for audit preparedness.
Perform regular review of service-wide practices; identify workflow gaps and action plans.
Build workflow documents and training resources; maintain service-wide databases and document repositories.
Assist in the training of new team members and provide ongoing education for the research team.
Work with Manager on service/departmental level data reporting for Service Chief or investigator(s).
Anticipate the impact of special needs or requests on daily workload and existing projects and implements plans to meet these needs.
Independently analyze issues, provides appropriate feedback, and takes appropriate (corrective) action, as needed.
Connect with PI and Manager when issues or questions arise regarding applicable research projects, database, and/or protocols. Meet regularly to review study and data progress.
Adept at learning quickly and applying insights from past efforts to new situations.
An effective communicator, capable of resolving how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.
Willing to take action and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a proactive mentality, high energy, and passion.
